    The stripper can be used to remove the old coating if that is what you are shooting for.

    I used a kit prior to staining with Armstrong Clark in 2015. I started using the cleaner since its very dirty and it almost seems as if its pulling the stain! Is this possible? I also saw a reply to a question on here, for yearly cleaning that only 2-3 oz. of product should be used to 1 gallon of water. I wish that was on the label what I used may have been too strong.

    It is normal to have to reapply every two to 3 years so when you use the kit at full strength after two years, it will do a full prep for replication. That is the purpose of the kit. Prep for reapplying.

    Yes, they should dissolve. Moisture must have gotten in there somehow. Typically only the top will harden if that happens.

    Clorox is bleach. Our products are not bleach based and much safer and more effective for prepping exterior wood. Yes, you either need to pressure wash after applying the Step 1 Cleaner or scrub and rinse.

    Sorry, but this product will not work when injected. Try to keep off the stained deck if possible as it may "clean" it in spots, making the finish uneven.

During the past 15 years I've cleaned it with various products, none to my satisfaction. I would like to get it really clean before I apply yet another application of Penofin.

    You should use the the Stripper not the Cleaner. Penofin turns darker in color and needs to be removed fully to restore the wood color.

The deck still looks good, but before another winter, I would like to reapply a coat of TWP 100. Do I need to use Restore=A -Deck cleaner before I ereapply the TWP 100? Should I also use the brightener?

    Just use the cleaner and lightly wash and reapply.

      This answer confuses me. I thought the brightener was always to be used after cleaning even though the deck was previously stained with TWP 100.

    Cleaners do not peel off wood fibers but you will remove oxidized wood cells. This is normal when cleaning. Best to clean and brighten for the prep.

    If not stain on the wood then no need to strip. Use the Restore A Deck Kits for this. Apply the Step 1 and pressure wash off. Apply the Step 2 after to neutralize.

    No need for the cleaner when using the stripper. Apply the brightener the same day, right after the stripping is done.

I did not have time to apply the brightener and today I have a lot of fuzzies. If I re-clean the deck in three days then apply the brightener would that solve that problem or will we need to sand the entire deck (25x30)?

    This can happen when removing a heavy layer of oxidized wood cells from a deck that has never been stained. Proceed with the cleaning and brightening. If you still have fuzzies then you can rent a floor buffer and remove then excess raised wood fibers with a sanding pad.
